AMD Radeon Pro WX 8200

AMD has officially announced its new graphics card aimed at the professional market. The new AMD Radeon Pro WX 8200 is expected to hit the market next month, this graphic is made with the Vega architecture and is a limited version of the Radeon Pro 9100 that comes for less than half price of latter.

The company’s top professional graphics card is the Radeon Pro WX 9100 and it has a price of 2200 dollars, a price that does not make it a product accessible to all. The new graphic presented by the company, the WX 8200, offers performance similar to the WX 9100 but with a price lower than 1000 dollars. With this price, there are many users who can opt for it, especially those who are dedicated to the creation of content.

To reduce the price of this model, the company has decided to reduce the memory capacity and the number of CU in the graphics card. The Radeon Pro WX 8200 incorporates the Vega 10 GPU with a maximum frequency of 1500 MHz, similar to the WX 9100. These GPUs have 8 of their 64 CU deactivated and half of memory, which is tried to compensate with a greater bandwidth.

The WX 8200 graphics card reaches 10.8 TFLOPS in 32-bit floating-point operations and 21.5 TFLOPS in 16-bit floating-point operations. AMD says it has an excellent performance when it comes to working, such as real-time visualization, virtual reality and realistic photo rendering. If we compare it with the superior model we do not find a big power difference, 12,3 TFLOPS for 32 bits in floating point and 24,6 TFLOPS for 16 bits in floating point.

This new graphic has all the certifications and technology that its sister of higher rank, such as HBCC, Enchanced Pixel Engine, ECC memory… In addition, the company wants to certify it in most current applications such as Adobe CC, SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk.

The new AMD Radeon Pro graphics are available in pre-order on the Newegg page from today at $ 999. They will start selling globally in September of this year.
