Aorus AC300W, new box in midi format with connectivity for VR

Gigabyte Technology, through its brand Aorus, has introduced its new Aorus AC300W – a tower in midi format – semi tower – designed for Gaming teams who are thinking of using virtual reality systems, since its main faculty is that it incorporates a Specific HDMI 2.0 port to connect these. In fact, the AC300W is designed to take advantage of the recently implemented VR-Link feature that some of the brand graphics have, since the front HDMI connector is designed to connect internally to the graphics card – if the graphics does not have internal HDMI, then we will have to route the cable on the outside to connect it. Speaking of the front panel, it also incorporates a USB 3.1 Type-C connector and two standard USB Type-A 3.1, in addition to the usual audio minijacks.

The AC300W is made of ABS plastic and high quality SECC steel, with the front panel made of brushed aluminum to give a touch of distinction and style to the chassis. It has, of course, RGB lighting on the front bezels, and incorporates an acrylic plastic side window that allows you to see the installed hardware inside. Also, the front logo of Aorus and the interior, located in the lower deck, also are illuminated. These LEDs connect directly to the motherboard, to the RGB LED connector, so watch out for this because if your board lacks this connector this illumination will not work. The good part is that we can control this lighting with the manufacturer’s software, RGB Fusion.

In the interior of the AC300W we find a design of double compartment, the usual in these times. The upper compartment accommodates ATX-format motherboards, graphics cards up to 400 mm in length and processor heatsinks up to 170 mm high. The lower compartment supports power supplies up to 180 mm in length, as well as two 3.5 / 2.5-inch storage units. At the top, of course, the box has the usual 7 PCIe expansion bays, but also has two additional to be able to install the graphics card vertically using a PCIe riser – not included –  if you want. The housing supports three 120 mm or two 140 mm fans in the front panel, two 140 mm in the ceiling and one 140 mm in the rear.

Aorus has not revealed any information about the launch date or the price.
