Blackberry Key2 launched in India, price upsets many

Optiemus Infracom has launched Blackberry Key2 in India for INR 42990. It is Amazon India exclusive and will be available from July 31st 2018 onwards. It is made for hardware keyboard lovers in mind. This Blackberry will be made in Noida by Optiemus Infracom and would not be sold in brick and mortar stores.

Compared to the first generation Blackberry Key (1), this one has better keyboard and dual cameras on the rear instead of one single camera. On the front, there is a 8MP selfie camera. Powering it s a Snapdragon 660 quad core processor, 6GB RAM and 64GB flash storage. This is expandable to 256GB via microSD card slot. On the front, there is a 4.5” 1080×1620 pixel display which has aspect ratio of 3:2.

A fingerprint scanner is built into the spacebar. There is a new Speed key as well, which is new for Blackberry phones. This allows you to hop onto any app easily, making you more productive.

Now, let’s talk about price because that is bugging most people, especially the twitter users. Most phones in this range come with flagship Snapdragon processors like Snapdragon 845 and 835. So many are questioning use of Snapdragon 660 in Key2. This very CPU is popular in the mid range phones like Nokia 7 Plus so price of Key2 could have been lower.
