MSI Oculux NXG251R: new 24.5 "gaming monitor, with G-Sync and 240 Hz – MSI Oculux NXG251R specs price
Before the end of the year, MSI will launch a monitor for the most demanding or professional players, since we are talking about a gaming monitor with the best performance in the market. This monitor is called MSI Oculux NXG251R and will have an aesthetic to match the features that we will relate below.
The new flagship of MSI will have as central pillar the latest version of the most popular module for monitors in the world, the NVIDIA G-Sync. To be the first screen of the brand with this module we have to say that MSI has thrown the house out the window without any doubt since its features are raised to the level of brands with more experience in the sector.
With a panel of 24.5 inches with TN technology we are facing one of the fastest monitors in the world, since this panel is capable of displaying 240 Hz on the screen.
The resolution, as is typical in a panel of that size and Hz, will be 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p) with a 16: 9 screen format. The contrast due to the type of panel included is not bad, since it will have a ratio of 1000: 1, which is quite competent for TN panels.
Its maximum brightness will be 400 nits, a fact that is not too bright in itself but that equals its competitors in this competitive segment as is that of gaming monitors for professional players.
A screen of 240 Hz should have a response time as small as possible to maximize the dreaded input lag, so the panel that MSI has included in this Oculus NXG251R has only 1 ms of response time from gray to gray, plus, some rumors are revolving around this monitor in this particular section, since some sources claim that the real time would be only 0.5 ms although the specification determines otherwise.
Ultra-slim frames and LEDs everywhere
An aspect that determines the immersion of the player and the impression of general quality of the same are the dimensions of the frame. In this case MSI has equipped this panel with an ultra narrow frame of only 2.2 mm, giving it a very minimalist and refined appearance.
In true gaming style, this monitor implements rear LEDs that can be synchronized with the brand’s lighting system ( Mystic Light Sync ), where both the MSI logo and the NVIDIA G-Sync logo will be illuminated and synchronized with the rest of the monitor.
Focusing on the body of the monitor, MSI has arranged for this Oculus NXG251R a foot that together with the lifting stand form a complete triangular support of marked character gaming.
This support allows adjusting the height from 0 to 13 cm, allowing an inclination of -5 to 20 degrees. The features are completed with three USB 3.1 Type A and a DisplayPort 1.2 interface to meet the bandwidth that this monitor claims with its 240 Hz.
MSI has not commented on price or availability, but seeing the price of the Asus PG258Q with which it shares many features, we could think of a similar price.
