NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 vs GTX 1080 Ti benchmark comparison

A new benchmark result has been released, which would place the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card above the performance of the brand’s current top-end for the GeForce series: the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. These results would be very much in line with what has happened with previous generations of graphics.

Although NVIDIA has already released its own performance results related to the new generation of graphics cards, the truth is that, the most and the least waiting for what will be the real results made by independent sources, that leave us See how these new graphics cards work. However, given that the new series of graphic cards will not be available until the end of September, for the time being we should settle for the results that are leaking.

As usual, and given that it is a leak, even if the source is a APISAK, who is a user that is usually the most reliable, you have to take the results with a pinch of salt. At least until we have confirmation of these by other websites.

The results that have been filtered belong to the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark. The 10,030 points achieved in this benchmark, contrast sharply with the scores usually obtained by the current NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (7325 points) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (9508 points). All this, taking into account that the graphics card with which the tests have been made must not have the final drivers, which would surely increase the difference in performance between the graphics models even more.

The numbers of this supposed benchmark tell us that the GeForce RTX 2080 would be 37% more powerful than the current GeForce GTX 1080, which it replaces, and around 6% more powerful than the current GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. But on the other hand, this type of performance increase we have already seen in the past with the GeForce GTX 1000 series. When it hit the market, the GeForce GTX 1080 were able to perform as well as the GeForce GTX 980 Ti, which formed the high-end graphics with Maxwell cores. Therefore, and extrapolating a bit, the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 should perform like the current NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.
