Samsung Galaxy Watch

Operating System: Tizen OS | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Screen: 1.2 or 1.3 inches, 360 x 360 Super AMOLED | Processor: 1.15 GHz Dual Core | Band sizes: 22mm or 20mm | Built-in memory: 4 GB | Battery life: 4 days at 46 mm / less than 42 mm | Upload method: wireless IP rating: 50m | Connection: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

Price: from 15,500 rub.

Galaxy Watch is undoubtedly Samsung's best-designed smartwatch. The device comes in two versions, which are very different from each other. If you are looking for a larger watch, you should purchase a 46 mm version with a 1.3 inch screen.

Then there is the 42 mm version. Both products are equipped with a rotary housing, which facilitates the selection of all the functions offered by the device.

This is a feature you are unlikely to see in other smart watches and it works so well on the Galaxy Watch that it is one of the most significant benefits of the device. In addition, there is Samsung Pay, GPS, swimming tracking and more.

The watch can work as a fitness device as well as a premium watch. I checked a larger version of the watch and found that with an average charge, the battery lasts about four days.

If you're sure you want to use a Tizen software watch, the Galaxy Watch is the right thing to do.

Pro:

  • Impressive battery life;
  • Large rotating body.

versus:

  • Annoying charger;
  • Bixby, a virtual assistant, is not the best.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2

Operating System: Tizen OS | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Screen: 1.2 inch, 360 x 360 Super AMOLED | Processor: 1.15 GHz Dual Core | Band size: 20 mm | Internal memory: 4 GB | Battery life: about 2 days Upload method: wireless IP rating: 50 m | Connection: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.

Price: from 16,400 rub

Galaxy Watch Active 2, launched six months after its predecessor, includes some of the coveted features that are missing from the Galaxy Watch, such as a digital pivot panel and an LTE version. Watches, respectively, are more expensive.

But this is still a more subtle option, which is perfect for fitness enthusiasts who need all the features of a smart watch with full rights. The device is equipped with a 1.2 inch display with 360 x 360 resolution, which may seem small, but I found it large enough for interaction, and the app looked great on the screen.

The clock is equipped with a heart rate monitor, can automatically track workouts, has GPS, as well as memory, which allows you to download music to the clock and listen to songs using Bluetooth headphones. If you do not want to do this manually, you can use the Spotify app on Tizen.

Despite rising prices, Active 2 is still more affordable than the most expensive smart watches on the market. If you need a smaller option, suitable for both workout and everyday wear, the Galaxy Watch Active is an excellent choice.

Pro:

  • High quality design;
  • Digital housing
  • The 44mm and LTE versions are now available.

versus:

  • A rise in price brings the watch closer to the Apple Watch;
  • Features are still limited compared to iOS.

Samsung Gear Sport

Operating System: Tizen OS | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Screen: 1.2 inch, 360 x 360 Super AMOLED | Processor: Dual Core 1 GHz | Band dimensions: 22 mm | Built-in memory: 4 GB | Upload method: wireless IP rating: 50 m | Connection: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

Price: from 17,990 rub

On paper, Samsung Gear Sport doesn't look as powerful as the Galaxy Watch, but if you compare the two models, you will notice a lot of differences.

In Gear Sport, the company has solved many problems, and this is an excellent option, especially given how low the Gear Sport price is.

Much of what you get from the new generation of devices is here, along with the latest Tizen software, so you have access to all the applications you get on the Samsung Galaxy Watch.

The screen on the watch is large and easy to navigate. The clock can track your location while you're playing, and you can also download music and listen to songs through Bluetooth headphones.

If there is a major flaw, it is that the overall design is not so clearly implemented. This is still a nice watch that you might want to wear around your wrist if you are looking for a device with high technical features, but do not want to spend a lot of money.

Pro:

  • Elegant design
  • Efficient software;
  • Limited exercise tracking.

versus:

  • GPS can be wrong.

Samsung Gear S3

Operating System: Tizen OS | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Screen: 1.3 inches, 360 x 360 Super AMOLED | Processor: Dual Core 1 GHz | Band dimensions: 22 mm | Built-in memory: 4 GB | Upload method: wireless IP rating: 50 m | Connection: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

Price: from 12 650 rub

The Gear S3 has not gone far from the Gear Sport, but by comparison, the watches look older and are more difficult to recommend to any consumer.

If you find the Gear S3 at a much lower price than the Gear Sport, it might be worth buying.

However, it is better to pay a little too much and buy a Galaxy Watch or Gear Sport.

Pro:

  • Animated always on the display;
  • Intuitive interface.

versus:

  • They look very big at the wrist;
  • Relatively old.

You may still find the Samsung Gear S2 or even the original Gear, but we do not recommend buying them in 2019. It is best to pay attention to the options above, as older devices are unlikely to be updated in the future and they can become very old.

If you can't find an absolutely amazing price, we think it is worth spending more for the above products or considering a watch that Tizen software is not installed on.

Samsung's best fitness trackers Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro

Screen: 1.5 AM Super AMOLED | Heart Rate Monitor: Yes | Water resistance: Yes | Activity tracking: Yes | GPS: Yes | Battery life: 3 days Compatibility: Android / iOS

Price: from 9,690 rub

Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro is one of the best fitness trackers with a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display. There are not many fitness trackers on the market that look so good. The watch is comfortable to wear during training and they have several features that make the device better than its bigger and cheaper brother, Gear Fit 2.

Perhaps most importantly, you can play Spotify offline on the tracker. This allows you to sync your playlists with your watch, connect your Bluetooth headset, and do phone-less exercise. This is especially useful because the device is equipped with built-in GPS, as well as all other fitness features such as tracking workouts and a heart rate monitor.

The product is also slightly more durable than the Gear Fit 2. The watch has a protection level of MIL-STD-810G. The exact Pro updates are not that interesting, but considering the price of the two devices is similar, we recommend using a newer and more advanced tracker.

Pro:

  • Excellent design
  • Offline support for Spotify.

versus:

  • Uncomfortable setting;
  • Still quite expensive.

Samsung Gear Fit 2

Screen: 1.5 AM Super AMOLED | Heart Rate Monitor: Yes | Water resistance: Yes | Activity tracking: Yes | GPS: Yes | Battery life: 3 days Compatibility: Android / iOS

This watch is not very different from others, but it lacks some additional features, and the price, respectively, is slightly lower.

The tracker is also a bit old, so Samsung may be reluctant to update the Gear Fit 2 software faster than the Pro. However, we cannot say for sure.

In general, if you don't need Spotify support or a stronger design, then Gear Fit 2 is a great option. This is especially true if you find the tracker at the right price, but quite often Gear Fit 2 Pro is cheaper than the new Samsung tracker.

Pro:

  • Excellent design
  • Good price.

versus:

  • There is no alarm;
  • Does not support Spotify offline.
