Review for the large-screen Alpha GTX: 4-core smartpad for minimal money

In this article we will talk about such a device that combines the functions of a smartphone and a tablet computer, we refer to "phablet". Basically, this is still the same smartphone, just with a big screen. We will consider a new model from Vobis Computer (Highscreen brand) – Highscreen Alpha GTX. In addition to a large screen, this model has a quad-core processor and support for two SIM cards. But more about that later.

We will start with the HighGreen Alpha GTX screen, which impressed us sincerely. Its diagonal is 5.7 inches, and the resolution is 1280 by 720 pixels. The image is clear, the pixels are visible only on closer inspection. The type of matrix is IPS, which is why the high quality of the image and the widest viewing angles. Overall, we were pleased with the HighGreen Alpha GTX display.

Overall, the Highscreen Alpha GTX is a fairly large device, which is understandable given the diagonal of the screen used. To be more precise, the gadget has the following dimensions – 163 x 83 x 9.5 mm. Yes, the dimensions are noticeably larger than the average smartphone, but the device still fits with your hand.

Highscreen Alpha GTX design is quite common – corners and rounded edges, the case is dark gray plastic. Regarding the quality of the construction, there are no complaints in this regard. All parts of the housing are clearly mounted on each other; During helical torsion, the device did not release a single box. The quality is very good.

Highscreen Alpha GTX: All the time

Highscreen Alpha GTX has a quad-core 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 processor and 1GB RAM. It is clear that with such a "hardware" the device works very smartly. There was no problem when watching FullHD videos or launching "demanding" games – the device has been able to handle this without any problems. The amount of internal memory is standard enough for such hardware – 4 GB, plus a microSD card slot.

Android isn't the latest here, but it's still relevant – this is version 4.1.2 of Jelly Bean. Of course, Google service support is implemented (Google Play Market, Gtalk, Gmail, YouTube, and more). Despite the gluttony of the "green robot", a large screen and a quad-core processor, the smartphone has a good battery life – about 1.5-2 days of average use. Battery capacity is 3,000 mAh.

The 8-megapixel Highscreen Alpha GTX integrated camera is capable of taking very good quality photos. By the way, we notice the presence of autofocus and LED flash. The device is capable of recording videos in FullHD – 1080p format. Overall, pretty good performance. Here we are talking about the presence of a 2 megapixel front camera, which offers good image quality during a video call, say in Skype.

Highscreen Alpha GTX is equipped with a radio module. Therefore, if you make a call or work on the Internet – only one book will be active, both are active when the phone is in standby. Thus, all "dual SIM" devices on Android work. We add that one SIM card works on 2G (GSM / GPRS / EDGE) and 3G (UMTS / HSDPA) networks, and the other only in 2G.

Alpha GTX functions for high screen

There is also a complete set of additional options in the form of a GPS satellite navigation receiver, a light sensor, a proximity sensor, an FM receiver, an accelerometer, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless adapters, etc.

To summarize. Highscreen Alpha GTX is a new "phablet" of Vobis Computer. The device is equipped with a high quality 5.7-inch IPS screen, a powerful high-performance processor, an 8-megapixel camera and accepts two SIM cards. There is a novelty of about 12,000 rubles. By the way, this is the cheapest four-core phablet in Russia.
