Are you able to compare the audio quality between Google Pixel 5 vs Google Nexus 5x? Both listening to music from the loudspeaker and the audio quality of phone calls / microphone?
This is the one aspect that I feel would be a downgrade to my Pixel 3.
Very disappointed with the Pixel 5 clips I've heard. Why do they do this? Why can't they be consistent, audio was pretty good with 3a Xl and my Pixel 4 Xl… Bit not with the 5 it's going backwards fgs.
I shouldn’t worry about it too much tbh! If you what to enjoy the content/music you’re watching properly you should be using headphones. As long as the call audio is good enough and you can hear it for the odd video now and again I’m sure it’ll be fine

It is incredible that the Pixel 5, the more expensive of the three new phones, has a smaller screen than the Pixel 4A 5G and worse speaker sound than both the Pixel 4A and the 4A 5G.

Google makes a huge effort to screw up a phone. I really wanted to get out of the iPhone and buy the Pixel 5 or the 4g 5g. But every year they comment on serious mistakes. Just keep the quality of the Pixel 4 and it would be a great phone. I'm going to buy the iPhone 12 Pro Max because it's the most balanced phone..and I'm sure Apple won't regress its speakers on the iPhone 12. iPhone to be perfect, you just need to have a biometric reader again, and if I were Apple I would put on the Power button.

Whilst they sound bad I'm still using a single bottom speaker phonez and only time I use loudspeaker is for quiet you tube vids that have talking or a tv show.
Wonder in that use if the sound is good enough….for music I will be using a stereo anyway
Google has destroyed the speaker quality on this beautiful phone. What a shame. They will lose a lot of customers due to the low quality audio of the pixel 5.
There $350 pixel 4a sounds much better than there top of the line phone.
How do they expect to sell this phone. I can guarantee that the price will drop by half in 3 months if they don't fix it.
I would recommend buying the pixel 4a or even the pixel 4 as they have discounted that phone selling it at half the original price.

i just don't believe, why basic stuff Google always misses out. i have iphone 8 plus their speaker are excellent.
This is why I never rush to pre-order phones until I've seen the reviews. That pixel 5 speaker is terrible, shame as I wanted to get it. But my galaxy s9 has much better sound than that.

The earpiece speaker is not a conventional one, there is no hole for the speaker there. So it wont be as good as the 4a and 4a5g

Could you please compare sound with your iPhone? I am debating between pixel 5(I use wireless charger) and 4a 5G(better speakers). You said that speakers are comparable to iPhone. I remember reading that.
just sold my P4 XL to get the 5. I can live with that speaker quality as a trade off with the symmetrical design bezel! Sure that would be a head turner in the Subs.

How high (or low) is the sound of ringtones?!?! That is more important than speaker sound!!!

I will definitely take the 4 XL's notch and have stereo speakers than have a hole punch. Is the 4a 5g the same?

Hopefully this can be fixed with an update, it’s pretty bad. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and the speakers are amazing. So, I’m alittle worried now.
