Asus UX306 release date and specs overview

It’s no secret: ASUS renewed its range of ultrabook at Computex 2016 during the event Zenvolution. And some news already know them. We were the first to get your hands on the new ASUS ZenBook Flip (UX360) , the first ultrabook convertible Taiwanese company showed at the Milan Design Week earlier this year , as well as a preview we found the pictures and specifications of the UX330 ZenBook in the database the Red Dot Design Awards.

But there appears to be a third new model: ASUS ZenBook UX306 . Its official page on the ASUS is already online , and allows us to take a peek at its design, technology and technical details, although we think it is the successor of the ZenBook UX305 . ASUS ZenBook UX306 will be equipped with processors Intel Core i5-6200U and Core i7-6500U (Skylake-U) , with 4-8GB of RAM DDR3L 1866MHz (up to 16GB) storage and 256GB SSD or 512GB SATA3 . The display, which has a diagonal of 13.3 inches, is then available in two versions, with a resolution of Full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) or QHD + (3200 x 1800 pixels).

The IPS type panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Glass, it is opaque and can then be displayed perfectly even outdoors or in unfavorable lighting conditions. On board there is a micro HDMI port, a USB 3.0 and a USB Type-C , audio jack and microSD card reader, and a HD webcam, a sound system edited as always by Bang & Olufsen and modules Wi-Fi 802.11ac dual band and Bluetooth 4.0. Thanks to the battery lithium polymer 57 Wh , the ultrabook should boast a range similar to that of the UX305 ZenBook (about 10 hours) whereas the chips have a higher TDP.

In essence, ASUS UX306 is a refresh which considerably improves the ultrabook: the processors are more powerful and faster, the storage is bigger as well as the battery (in order to meet increased energy demand), the keyboard is backlit and is added a new USB-C.
