Fractal Design Define R6: now with tempered glass and USB-C

The manufacturer of computer cases, Fractal Design, has just released new versions of its Define R6 box, which now incorporate new options, such as the left side made of tempered glass or the USB-C input located on the front of the new Models. These boxes will maintain the characteristic acoustic insulation, which has made this brand famous.

In the segment of silent computer cases, if there is a name that stands out above the rest of manufacturers, that is Fractal Design. Not only because of the excellent quality of the materials used in their computer cases, but also because of the acoustic insulation they use (which makes them one of the quietest on the market) and the excellent cooling they have, despite the use of this type of sound insulation.

The new Fractal Design Define R6 was presented at the end of December of last year 2017, assuming a complete revolution in the internal design of its previous Define series boxes, with a clear commitment to the modularity of the internal construction, but maintaining the functionality in the assembly, as well as the accessibility to the components that had always had the previous designs of this series of computer cases.

The new versions of the Fractal Design Define R6 has focused, especially, on the incorporation of the use of tempered glass on the left side of the box, allowing an uninterrupted view of the hardware installed inside the box. An option that will be very appreciated by those users who want to show their graphic card, placed in vertical position, thanks to the mounting slots dedicated for that purpose inside the Define R6.

It will also be important to include the USB-C port on the front of the box. The use of this port on the front panel of computer boxes is not especially widespread, and there are few boxes that usually use it. For the Define R6, Fractal Design has decided to use a USB-C 3.1 2nd Generation, which gives it the ability to transfer files up to 10 Gbps and provides fast loading capacity.

The rest of the box has not been touched. Thus, it continues to maintain its two silent front fans of 140 mm, plus the rear, also 140 mm (the box has up to 9 eggs for mounting fans inside), the 6 bays of 3.5 and 2.5 inches for storage units, plus two other dedicated 2.5-inch bays, as well as the acoustic insulation material coating on the front of the box, on its right side and on the roof of the Define R6.
