MSI PRO 24X: Ultra slim AIO computer with Intel Core i5 processor
Manufacture of personal computers, MSI has presented its new AIO computer, called MSI PRO 24X. Equipped with a 24-inch IPS screen, this new personal computer mounts an energy- efficient processor of the Intel Kaby Lake-U series, is compatible with Intel Optane memories and has a thickness of only 6.5 mm.
Although it may not seem like it, AIO computers have a fairly well-defined market segment, in that they are computers that allow us to do most of the work we do with our desktops, but the physical space they occupy is much lower which would occupy a tower plus the monitor. In this case, this physical space is limited to the one occupied by the monitor and that’s it. And that aspect, for certain users who want to have an office as clear as possible, is very important.
This type of AIO computers are often mounted many times with low power components, often the same as those that are usually mounted on laptops. This is done because, in the end, in both cases as it is a matter of keeping fresh components enclosed in small carcasses. And, if possible, with the minimum sound emission by the system.
The new MSI PRO 24X is designed with professionals in mind. That is why it features TPM technology for the protection of the equipment.
The processors that you can mount are the following:
Intel Celeron 3865U, with two cores and a frequency of 1.8 GHz.
Intel Pentium 4415U, with two cores and four wires and a frequency of 2.3 GHz.
Intel Core i3-7100U, with two cores and four wires and a frequency of 2.4 GHz.
Intel Core i5-7200U, two-core and four-wire, a base frequency of 2.5 GHz with a boost to 3.1 GHz.
The fact is that they consume so little that the transformers with which they come, can supply 65 W for the most basic versions, or 90 W for the most advanced versions.
They all have a maximum TDP of 15 W. And the motherboards where they are mounted can equip up to 32 GB of RAM. As graphics card they use the Intel HD Graphics 620, which is capable of playing video up to 4K format. Which is useful if you want to connect to a second monitor with the HDMI output that mounts,
As storage, this AIO computer can equip a 2.5-inch mechanical hard drive and an M.2 drive as SSD, either as normal SATA, or with support for NVMe by PCIe. These computers also support the use of Intel Optane memory, but they do so only when they mount an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor.
Like USB, the MSI PRO 24X has four USB 3.1 type A and two USB 2.0, also type A. Interestingly, this AIO computer has two Gigabit Ethernet network sockets on the back.
MSI has not provided data on the different versions of this computer or its sales price.
