NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080/1180 Founders would carry two fans
The latest rumor concerning the upcoming graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080/1180 indicates that the reference design from NVIDIA could take two fans for cooling, rather than the traditional distribution of a fan, along with a system steam chamber, how the brand has been doing all these years, until now.
Among the many features positive with current cards graphics architecture Pascal from NVIDIA, it is that they are extremely efficient in their consumption of power. No more to see that the current NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 came on the market powered with just an extra power connector 8-pin, and cooled by the traditional heatsink fan blower type. The temperatures achieved in this way may not have been particularly low, nor the low-sounding system, but they complied more than correctly with its function.
However, it seems that the reference model of the new graphics cards NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080/1180 would be out of the standard of heat sinks that we have seen to date and would use a heatsink, which would mount two fans on top of the PCB. This would imply that the card graphics is so hot you need one extra cooling to keep some parameters temperature acceptable for continued operation.
The fact that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080/1180 employs possibly two power connectors 6 and 8 pins, implies that the card graphic could eventually consume up to 250 W, which is an amount of power quite substantial when compared to what consumes the reference design of the GeForce GTX 1080, which is only 180 W. However, the reference design of the current NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti also uses two power connectors, since it consumes 250 W, and does notuses two fans for cooling, so another reason should be to be used in the new graphics card.
On the other hand, if this rumor is confirmed, NVIDIA would begin to compete with its partners regarding the use of customized refrigeration solutions, an aspect in which the company has remained completely aloof, at least to date. As always, NVIDIA has released its graphics cards using the same type of blower type heatsink, which has been used for many years.
We will have to wait for NVIDIA to officially present these new graphics cards to put an end to all the rumors about its definitive name, its consumption and its performance.
