Nvidia 1050 3GB normal and low profile models released by Gigabyte

The manufacturer of graphics cards, Gigabyte, has introduced two new models of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB card, which are added to the OC model that already had this manufacturer. In this way, there are already three models available to this manufacturer, which seems to be the only one that is being encouraged to produce this new NVIDIA graphics card model.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB was developed to provide a little more performance (supposedly) to the normal GeForce GTX 1050, of which there is only one version, which mounts only 2 GB of VRAM memory on its PCB. Although, in order to do so, they had to cut the memory bus from the original 128 bits to the current 96 bits. And we say “supposedly”, because there is still no review of these graphics cards, so we do not know how this increase in VRAM and reduction of the memory bus has affected the final performance of the graphics.

On the other hand, despite having official specifications for almost a month now, the only manufacturer that seems to be showing interest in producing this graphics card is Gigabyte. After all, it is the only one that has already released three models of it, while other manufacturers such as MSI or Asus do not seem to have shown any interest in them. Something that seems very unusual and out of character for them.

In any case, the three models currently available to Gigabyte, it seems that will cover the entire offer of the GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB for the time being. The truth is that, right now, these graphics cards are completely gone from the Spanish stores and it is not known when they will arrive.

The two new models presented Gigabyte to join model OC who presented this manufacturer at the end of last May. These new models include a normal model, without overclock (at least appreciable), plus another model, this made for computers mounted in thin boxes HTPC, which can not mount components of standard height. In the case of the first, the heatsink that mounts is a simple model, with a single fan of 92 mm on the front. While the LP model (Low Profile, Low Profile) uses a fan rather smaller, about 50 mm so we can see in the photos. Both models have a Gaming frequency profile and an OC profile that the user can select at their own discretion. Unlike the normal model, the LP model has an extra HDMI video output.
